About Writer/Book: Rabindranath Tagore was born in in 7 may 1861 in a educated and aristocratic family in Kolkata. He didn’t like the formal education. His early life was spent in a feeling of philosophical cross-current connecting arts, literature, song and painting. He composed his first poem when he was seven years old. His first book of poetry published in 1878. In 1910 he composed ‘Gitanjali’, which is the one of the most excellent of world literature. In 1912 he translated Gitanjali into English and published it. In English it is well-known as ‘song of offerings’. Tagore got Nobel Prize for ‘song of offerings’ in 1913. In 7 Aug 1941 he breathed his last in Kolikata leaving a huge cultural legacy.
